Hotel TerraVina in The New Forest

The only California wine country inspired restaurant in the New Forest. This is a stylish, ‘sexy’ restaurant that redefines the hotel dining experience. It was Gerard and Nina Basset’s love of the California wine country that inspired Nina to design and create a restaurant that epitomizes dining out in the sunshine state.

The ‘open kitchen’ is a superb feature. It’s almost as though the food is cooked at your table; no long walk from the kitchen here.

Many who live locally regard TerraVina as more of a chic restaurant with luxury rooms in the New Forest rather than a boutique hotel. Even The Times featured the restaurant as a place ‘to eat out in James Bond style’. The restaurant also won the Rémy Martin Restaurant Award 2009 for the South East of England and Hotel TerraVina was awarded a César by The Good Hotel Guide as one of the 'Top Ten Hotels in Britain 2009'… the food scored an impressive 9/10.

One side of the restaurant opens out onto a wonderful veranda for al fresco breakfast, lunch or early dinners when the weather is warm. In winter, the wood burning stove creates a warm and cosy environment.

We use fresh, free-range and organic produce from local New Forest suppliers, wherever possible, cooked with distinctive flavours.

Not only is Gerard the reigning World Champion and will be for the next three years but TerraVina Sommelier, Laura Rhys, won the UK Sommelier of the Year 2009 award. It's hardly surprising, therefore, that wine is a key element of dining at Hotel TerraVina where Gerard Basset's wine dinners are extremely popular.
